Welcome to Chef in the Valley – a boutique personal chef and catering company dedicated to bringing fresh, seasonal, delectable dishes directly from the farms of the Hudson Valley to your table. Our story began with a few core beliefs: that good food should be soul nourishing, prepared with care and creativity and that community is best built around a communal table of delicious, local food.

Inspired by the abundance of Hudson Valley farms and the vibrant flavors they offer, Chef Xavier James’ goal is to forge meaningful relationships with nearby growers and producers. We have  an unwavering commitment to sourcing the finest, sustainably harvested ingredients, ensuring that every Chef in the Valley event, no matter how big or small, is a celebration of the Hudson Valley's rich culinary heritage.

At Chef in the Valley, we believe that food has the power to bring people together, to create cherished memories and to ignite passion for the culinary arts. We love to collaborate and will work with you to create a custom menu that feels personal and unique to you and your special event.
